Family GP Practices

Alston Medical Practice is part of the Eden Primary Care Network and in March 2022 became part of Cumbria Health. We are a rural dispensing practice providing Primary care services for the patients of Alston Moor. Alston is notably the “highest market town” in England, the practice covers approximately nine miles North to South and eight miles East to West.

The practice offers same day appointments with their dedicated team of doctors. We provide clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes as well as a wide variety of other medical services. We offer a social day unit service for Parents, Carers and the elderly, which provides a social environment for patients to meet up, make new friends but also to get advice and support.

The practice is an accredited training practice involved in the training of fully qualitied doctors who wish to become General Practitioners.

Digital processes are available to support patients to book on line appointments, register with the practice and order prescriptions.

Tania Rymer Practice Manager and Dr Claire Corlett lead GP and GP trainer are focused to keep Alston Medical Practice embedded in the Alston Community and strive to keep services in Alston and focus on patient centred care.

We serve communities through a large and varied area; extending from Dunmail Raise and Grasmere in the north, through the rugged Langdale Valley, and into Coniston, Hawkshead, Grizeldale, Troutbeck, and all the places in-between. We work from Ambleside Health Centre and Hawkshead Surgery, providing primary care services to a population of around 6000 patients.

Nestled at the base of the renowned Kirkstone Pass, at the southern tip of Ullswater Lake, Glenridding embodies the natural splendour of the north-eastern Lake District. Our practice serves a vast, rural, and mountainous region within this picturesque landscape.

Glenridding Health Centre operates as a rural dispensing practice, situated within a purpose-built facility at the heart of the village, delivering primary care services to its residents. Despite being one of the smallest practices in Eden, our patient list has grown steadily in recent years, currently accommodating approximately 950 patients.

As an integral part of the Eden Primary Care Network (PCN), we are committed to providing comprehensive and accessible healthcare services to our community. 

A small rural practice serving our local community, including our branch surgery in Tebay.

The practice currently has over 6,600 patients. They are a dispensing practice also offering a medication delivery service on  Tuesday & Fridays.

Kirkby Stephen is a bustling market town, with local scenic walks, with the coast to coast route running through the centre of the town.

Based in Millom, which is a charming town nestled in the picturesque landscape of Cumbria! Surrounded by stunning natural beauty, offering breath taking views of the Lake District National Park to the north and the rugged coastline of the Irish Sea to the west it sits between the larger towns of Barrow-in-Furness to the south and Whitehaven to the north.

Serving a diverse population of approximately 8000 patients, Waterloo House Surgery aims to promote and maintain the health and well-being of our patients by delivering comprehensive, high-quality medical care. We offer a wide range of primary healthcare services to address the varying needs of our patients. From routine check-ups and preventive screenings to the management of chronic conditions and minor injuries, our experienced team is here to provide the care and support for the whole community.

From April 2024, a new Primary Care Network (PCN) was approved for the Millom area. This is a significant development in local healthcare provision, aimed at enhancing access to services and improving health outcomes for residents in the community.

The practice sits just minutes from lake Windermere and is the centre of clinical excellence for our community.
