The closure of Asylum hotels across the country has resulted in new arrival patients being dispersed across Cumbria. Many face barriers, including language and illiteracy in their own language which make navigating the healthcare system and accessing even basic advice challenging.
To help ease pressure on GP practices, we are now offering weekly health clinics in community settings across multiple areas of Cumbria. These clinics provide vital blood screening, routine appointments, and follow-ups, with support from our translation service to ensure patients can fully access their care in a supportive environment.
We look forward to welcoming this community and supporting their health needs.
